Cover vs. Original?

Which version of “Heartbeats” do you like better? The original by Swedish electronic duo The Knife or the cover version by Swedish folksinger José González? Personally I think both are amazing. Many people don’t realize that José González’ version is the cover as it is more well known. José’s version was partially made famous by its brilliant use in the Sony Bravia commercial, which featured 250,000 bouncy balls pouring down a San Francisco street. The vote is just on the song so try not to let the videos influence your decision too much.
Here is The Knife’s version with accompanying music video.
Here is the José González version as used in the Sony Bravia commercial.
Here is another cool version of “Heartbeats” by Salt Lake City based band The Precinct.

Yes! I am the first to vote and comment. I think both are awesome. I had a hard time deciding. But, I am more of an acoustic girl than a electronic one.
And I totally dig the original video.
the knife vid is the best
I wish I was there to watch the bouncy balls. I am sort of jealous of the people that got to be there for the making of that video. It is beautiful.
Tracy,
Almost the only to vote and comment. What a bummer of a post. I’ll do better.
This is the only one I’m not going to vote on because I like them both equally. No 49/51 split. It’s a pure 50/50 for me. I love the electronic-y sound of the Knife, but then Jose’s version is so beautiful.
[...] Cover vs. Original: The Knife or Jose Gonzalez’ version of Heartbeats? My lamest post ever? I liked it. Apparently most of you didn’t. It has the least amount of votes. For those of you care (all 5 of you) it is a tight race. Jose’s version is in the lead 53% to 47%. [...]
Awww, the second time I try to decide this race for myself, and still I cannot coem up with anything smart. The Knife is pure energy, but Jose Gonzales made a perfect “cover” by re-inventing the song without destroying it. For me, I go with the Knife and feel heartbroken….
